Let’s Visit Wyoming

I had the opportunity to partner with the Wyoming Office of Tourism to bring a concept to life “From the Arena to the Mountains”. This concept looked at all that there is to do from Cheyenne to Laramie, and everything in between, including Cheyenne Frontier Days, hiking at Vedauwoo, Laramie, Centennial and Woods Landing Resort. Take a look at each of the locations below! If you would like to see daily activities, check out the highlight here.

Hiking at Vedauwoo

Ready to explore one of Wyoming’s coolest hidden gems?
Just outside Laramie, Wyoming, you’ll find Vedauwoo (pronounced Vee-da-voo) — a surreal landscape of massive granite rock formations carved by wind and water over 1.4 billion years.

One of the best ways to explore is by hiking the Turtle Rock Loop Trail, a 3-mile loop that winds through towering rock walls, wildflower meadows, and shaded aspen groves.

Here’s why Vedauwoo is worth the stop:
✨ The name “Vedauwoo” comes from the Arapaho word meaning earth-born
✨ The rocks are among the oldest in North America
✨ It’s a favorite for rock climbers, campers, and families alike
✨ You can spot wildlife like marmots, deer, moose, and golden eagles
✨ The Turtle Rock Loop is an easy-to-moderate trail that offers 360° views of the granite outcrops

📍 Located in Medicine Bow National Forest, Vedauwoo is also a perfect day trip or road trip stop if you’re traveling between Cheyenne and Laramie.

🧭 Pro tip: Bring layers (it can be windy!), download maps before you go (no cell service), and pack a picnic for one of the scenic areas along the trail.
